BEETLE ADVISES SANTANDER ON SALE OF SOLAR PV PLANT TO MUNICH RE
Banco Santander S.A. (Santander) sold to Munich Re a photovoltaic plant in the municipality of Arico in Tenerife (Spain) with an installed total capacity of 6.7MWp. The project was equity financed by Santander’s Asset and Capital Structuring team (Santander A&CS). The construction and development of the plant was conducted by BP Solar.
Santander is the largest bank in the eurozone and a world leader in renewable energy having participated in financing over €4 billion of projects. Santander A&CS invests proprietary equity in renewable energy projects at a pre-construction stage for final sale to institutional investors once projects become operational. Since 2005, Santander A&CS has actively developed and invested in renewable energy transactions accounting for more than 170MW, and are currently developing a pipeline of more than 350MW in different technologies and geographies.
